Turning injury into innovation after a devastating car crash
After a life altering car accident Linda used her background in human biomechanics to create and Patent mobility devices that would maintain the body's upright posture and natural alignment.
Traditional mobility devices, canes, crutches, walking sticks and walkers let you maintain balance. What they don't do is engage your core muscles or maintain your body's natural alignment. The longer you use them the more bent over you become because you're forcing your body to be misaligned and moved in ways it was never designed for.
The Aligned as Designed Cane's offset ridged cane foot has the same proportions and anatomical ridges as the foot. This unique design allows the cane’s foot and the crutch's foot to distribute the body’s weight from heel to toe between the cane foot and the user's feet. The angled cane shaft moves at the same angle as the leg when walking helping support the body's upright posture and natural alignment.
The Aligned as Designed fabric topped crutch keeps the user's arms close to the body helping support the body's stability and the spine's natural alignment when walking forward, backing up and turning. The crutch feet are designed to move, pivot and maintain balance like a foot. The crutch feet like the cane foot are proportioned like a foot. They can maintain the body's weight from heel to toe while keeping the head upright.
The WALKER/ROLLATOR is designed to maintain the head over the shoulders and the shoulders over the hips with the arms close to the body helping maintain upright posture and a more stable natural walking gait. It can be pushed by one hand or two.
Being limited in mobility is difficult and painful. The Aligned As Designed Patented mobility devices maintain the body's natural alignment, upright posture and stability allowing the body to move the way it was designed to move.
