Why does the Bottom Of the 3rd Foot Crutch & Cane Foot Have Ridges

The ridges on the bottom of the 3rd Foot Cane and Crutch foot are Patented to move, pivot and maintain balance, stability, upright posture and a heel to toe walking gait like a foot.

Does The Way you Adjust and Use The 3rd Foot Cane Matter

The 3rd Foot Cane needs to be adjusted to leg height, not wrist height like a traditional cane that uses the cane handle to maintain balance. Your weight should be evenly distributed between the cane foot and your feet with your arm and the cane next to your side and head upright when the cane is adjusted high enough like in the Customer and How To Videos.

How Do I Know If I Need 1 Cane Or 2

If you're not sure if you need 1 cane or 2 canes, put the cane in one hand and your other hand on the other side of your body on the wall and walk. If you feel more stable with the added support on both sides of your body you need 2 canes.

Some people use 1 cane in the house and prefer to use 2 canes when walking outside because it gives them added stability, support, and independence that allows them to move better and walk longer when outside the house.

Can The 3rd Foot Cane Be Used  When Walking Indoors And Outdoors

The 3rd Foot Cane is used indoors and outdoors by people of all ages. Read the Customer review below.

Is The 3rd Foot Cane Good For Seniors

How does the 3rd Foot Cane compare to single point, 3 Tip, & Quad Canes?

Traditional canes are adjusted to wrist height and used in front of your body with your arm extended away from your side because those tip or tips of the cane feet can't move or pivot or maintain balance like a foot when walking. They are unable to keep your body upright and aligned with your weight evenly distributed over your hip, knee and ankle joints resulting in your spine and the rest of your body losing alignment.   The longer you use traditional canes and even walking sticks the weaker your core muscles become and the more misaligned and bent you become because you're forcing your body to be moved and aligned in ways it was not designed for to engage your core muscles that maintain your upright posture, balance and stability.

Will The 3rd Foot Cane Work For Everyone?

The cane will not work for people with dementia. People with Dementia  are prone to falling because the way Dementia affects the body's ability to remember how to coordinate and balance movement between the legs and feet when walking. Medical professionals recommended a walker for people with Dementia and not a cane.

The 3rd Foot Cane is designed and Patented to be used by people of all ages and a variety of conditions that affect balance and mobility, but it will not work for everyone.

A cane is not recommended if someone has severe kyphosis. When the top of the spine and shoulders are curved forward and downward in front of the rest of their body when standing and walking a walker is what Physician's recommend.

Vertigo-There are 4 types of vertigo. Most if not all physicians recommend using a walker and not a cane if someone has central vertigo which results in severe instability when sitting, walking and even standing.

People with peripheral vertigo will need to use two 3rd Foot Canes to maximize their stability and increase balance and posture when walking, turning, sitting and standing. Read the reviews from people with vertigo, drop foot and other conditions that affect the body's balance.

Do I Use the Cane On The Outside Of My Leg Or In Front Of My Body Like A Traditional Cane

The 3rd Foot Cane and cane foot should be moving on the outside of your leg with your arm next to your side like in the How To videos

Do You Need To Use The Cane with The Opposite Foot
You can use the cane foot with the foot next to the cane or with the opposite foot when you walk. The cane foot and whichever foot you choose need to strike the ground together from the back of the cane foot to the front of the cane foot like on the videos. When you're on the stairs or bending down use the cane foot with your opposite foot. If you are rehabbing a knee, hip or ankle place the cane foot next to your stronger leg and move the cane foot with the foot of your opposite or weaker leg.

How do I know that I've adjusted the cane height correctly

Your weight should be evenly distributed between the cane foot and your feet  with your arm next to your side and your head and shoulders upright when walking, backing up and turning when the cane is adjusted high enough.  Try different cane heights and it will be obvious which height is best for you. Watch the How To Videos on the Home Page. Contact Customer Support at 310-800-0110 if you need help adjusting or using the cane.

Can I use two canes outside the house and one inside

Absolutely! Many people use 1 cane at home and 2 canes for daily walks for the extra stability and to help them move better and walk longer.

Others use 2 to do standing stretches and core strengthening exercises like on our Instagram videos.   If you have any questions before or after you purchase the cane send Linda an email  at customerservice@alignedasdesigned.com or call customer support at 310-800-0110.

Does the cane foot stand up by itself

No. The cane foot does not stand the cane up by itself like a cane foot with tips that you extend away from your body and lean on the cane handle to maintain balance putting stress on your spine and weight bearing joints.

The cane foot was designed to let you stand up straight with balance and stability with your arm close to your side and your head centered between your shoulders without leaning on a cane handle.

You can stand the cane up against a wall using the back of the cane handle,  or use the edge of a cabinet, a towel rack as well as on the back of most chairs using the cane strap looped over the cane handle. You can use the handles of 2 canes to stand the canes up by themselves.

Is The 3rd Foot Cane Patented?

The 3rd Foot Cane, cane foot and crutch foot are Patented in the United States, Canada and China.
