How does the 3rd Foot Cane compare to single point, 3 Tip, & Quad Canes?

The 3rd Foot Cane is designed and Patented to  maintain balance, stability and upright posture and your body's natural alignment from the back of the cane foot to the front of the cane foot like a foot when walking.

Traditional canes with a tip or tips or prongs are not designed or proportioned to maintain balance and upright posture when one foot comes off the ground and swings forward when walking. In order to maintain balance your arm extends away from your body and your head and body weight shift forward and to the side. The longer you use them the more bent over you become because  your body is continually misaligned and positioned in ways it was never designed for to maintain upright posture or the natural alignment of your spine.

Read the customer reviews below and in the Review Section and watch the Customer Videos throughout the website to see the difference between The 3rd Foot Cane and other canes.

Does The Way you Adjust and Use The 3rd Foot Cane Matter

The 3rd Foot Cane needs to be adjusted to leg height not wrist height like a traditional cane. You should be standing up straight with your weight evenly distributed between the cane foot and your feet when the cane is adjusted high enough. The cane and cane foot are used on the outside of your leg  with your arm next to your side helping to maintain your upright posture and your body's natural alignment.  Watch the Customer and How To Videos on the website to see the difference for yourself.

Traditional canes move in front of your body and use the cane handle to maintain balance because the cane foot tip or tips are not designed or proportioned to move and maintain balance or your body's natural alignment like a foot. The longer you use them the more bent over you become because you're forcing your body to be misaligned and moved in ways it was never designed for.

My doctor said I needed to use a cane for stability, no more falling! I have back & hip issues. I started reading and reading about different types of canes. I always do my research before I make an investment. Within 5 or less minutes I was thrilled with how I felt using this cane. I was standing upright and feeling secure looking ahead and not down and which I couldn’t do with the cane I was using which was about 13 years old. The real test was going to the beach over the weekend. I couldn’t believe how I could walk through the sand. I was so happy I could have cried. I walked around collecting shells and rocks and I would never have been able to do that without my cane. I have talked up my cane with people at work and church and I have helped others. The 5 people I referred all LOVE them.
Nothing to hesitate about, you will not be disappointed, worth every penny. Elated walker in CT

What I find amazing about this cane is that I’m not all hunched looking like some decrepit old lady. I am old but I don’t want to stooped over. My shoulder doesn’t hurt anymore from leaning so hard on my regular cane. This one allows me to stand up straight and look forward without staring at the ground looking for something I might trip over. I hold cane with my right and I’m right handed and when my cane is forward so is my left foot. My hip was the broken hip. It’s cool that this cane allows my weight to be displaced equally on both legs. Less pain.

I had polio that affected my left leg and ankle and I have lower back problems. I'm 75 now and realize my whole left side is weaker. I've been using all different kinds of canes for 20 years and walkers for about 17 years. This is absolutely the best cane I've ever had. Using it feels as stable as using a walker and it's more comfortable (no bending involved). I haven't walked for a long time with it yet (walked outside), but I'll give it a try. With age and loss of muscle and back problems I've been slowly getting more bent over, just as you described in your video/writeups. Using the cane, I can walk better. I can look up instead of looking down and I feel the torso muscles being used much more. It's so comfortable! I'm hoping to see improvements (less being bent over) as you discussed in the writeups that came with the cane. Thank you for such a great product. I'm thinking about getting a second one and using both canes when I'm especially tired. Recommend that anyone with mobility problems gives this cane a try.

How Do I Know If I Need 1 Cane Or 2

If you're not sure if you need 1 cane or 2 canes, put the cane in one hand and your other hand on the other side of your body on the wall and walk. If you feel more stable with the added support on both sides of your body you need 2 canes.

Some people use 1 cane in the house and prefer to use 2 canes when walking outside because it gives them added stability, support, and independence that allows them to move better and walk longer when outside the house.

Do You Sell Replacement Feet For The Cane

The cane foot of The 3rd Foot Cane is not a little inexpensive tip or 3 or 4 tips that can be pulled off and replaced. The Cane foot of the 3rd Foot Cane is integrated into the lower part of the cane. It can not be pulled off and replaced. The average life of the cane foot is one to two and a half years depending on the user, how much they weigh. If they use it at the beach in the sand or outdoors where they salt the roads in the winter. Wash the cane foot off with warm soap and water to remove any sand or salt and preserve the life of the cane foot. Do not use hand sanitizer or alcohol on the cane handle or foot.

Will The 3rd Foot Cane Work For Everyone?

The 3rd Foot Cane is designed, Patented to be used by people of all ages and a variety of conditions that affect balance and mobility.

Medical professionals recommended a walker for people with Dementia and for people who are unable to pick up their feet and shuffle when they walk. Dementia affects the body's ability to remember how to coordinate and balance movement.

A cane is not recommended if someone has severe kyphosis and the top of their spine and shoulders are curved forward and downward in front of the rest of their body .

There are 4 types of vertigo. Most if not all physicians recommend using a walker and not a quad cane or any cane if someone has central vertigo which results in severe instability when sitting, walking and even standing.

Many people with peripheral vertigo use two 3rd Foot Canes to maximize their stability and increase balance when walking, turning, sitting and standing. Read the reviews from people with vestibular, drop foot and other conditions that affect balance.

Read the customer reviews under the Review Section from people with conditions like ataxia, MS, cerebral palsy, Parkinson's, EDS, SB, DISH, vestibular, stroke recovery and other conditions that affect mobility. As well as by people rehabbing from surgery and injuries that affect gait, alignment and mobility.

Do I Use the Cane On The Outside Of My Leg Or In Front Of My Body Like A Traditional Cane

Do You Need To Use The Cane with The Opposite Foot
You can use the cane foot with the foot next to the cane or with the opposite foot when you walk. The cane foot and whichever foot you choose need to strike the ground together when you walk like on the videos. When you're on the stairs or bending down use the cane foot with your opposite foot. If you are rehabbing a knee, hip or ankle place the cane foot next to your stronger leg and move the cane foot with the foot of your opposite or weaker leg.
How do I know that I've adjusted the cane height correctly

The 3rd Foot Cane needs to be adjusted to leg height or slightly higher.  When the cane is adjusted high enough your weight should be evenly distributed between the cane foot and your feet when walking, backing up and turning.  Watch the How To Videos on the Home Page. Will The 3rd foot Cane work For Someone With CRPS

Complex Regional Pain Syndrome typically affects an arm or leg and can result in pain throughout the body. The 3rd Foot Cane foot maintains balance and upright posture keeping weight off the wrist and shoulder. Unlike traditional canes that extended the arm and the cane in front of the body the 3rd Foot Cane and cane foot move on the outside of the leg supporting an upright walking gait that supports  the body's natural alignment. The cane foot is proportioned to move and maintain balance like a foot taking weight off the hip, knee and ankle joints and distributing  it between the cane foot and the user's feet

I have CRPS on my left side, bone on bone with arthritis in my left knee and a bad hip on my right. I have just about every imaginable cane out there. This is by FAR the best for stability, posture, durable, ease of use. There aren't enough descriptive words to explain the benefits of using this cane. You might not like that it doesn't stand alone but it really isn't a problem when you weigh the good. You can lean it on anything, hang it off anything. I like mine so much I ordered a 2nd one. I dont ever want to be without and might have to consider using both. Do yourself a favor and give it a try. Also, the customer service is beyond helpful from product knowledge to giving exercise suggestions to help.

Can I use two canes outside the house and one inside

Absolutely! Many people use 1 cane at home and 2 canes for daily walks for the extra stability and to help them move better and walk longer.

Others use 2 to do standing stretches and core strengthening exercises like on our Instagram videos.   If you have any questions before or after you purchase the cane send Linda an email or call customer support at 310-800-0110.

Does the 3rd Foot Cane Work For People with Muscular Dystrophy

I followed the directions on adjusting it and love my cane! Incredible customer service! I feel much more balanced and steady using my 3rd for cane. I have a rare form of muscular dystrophy and this has been much more helpful than a typical cane.

Does the cane foot stand up by itself

The cane foot does not stand the cane up by itself like a cane foot with tips that you extend away from your body and lean on to maintain balance putting stress on your spine and weight bearing joints.

You can stand the cane up against a wall using the back of the cane handle,  or use the edge of a cabinet, a towel rack as well as on the back of most chairs using the cane strap looped over the cane handle. You can use the handles of 2 canes to stand the canes up by themselves. The cane foot was designed to let you stand up straight with balance and stability with your arm close to your side and your head centered between your shoulders without leaning on a cane handle.

Broke a bone in my foot so dug out an old adjustable height cane from the local drug store. It was very; unstable. Tried a couple more (including those ugly but functional four=legged canes that stand by themselves). Then found this and was sold. Yes it is comfortable to use while walking. No it doesn't stand up by itself. Yes I used it more often and found it to be a superior design. Thank you!

Can the 3rd Foot Cane help with Plantar Fasciitis?

Plantar fasciitis makes walking painful because the fascia that runs from the heel to the toes becomes inflamed. The 3rd Foot Cane is the only cane foot that  maintains contact with the ground from heel to toe the way the human foot does redistributing some of the body's weight over the entire cane foot making walking easier and helping the foot to reestablish proper foot mechanics. Proper foot mechanics allows the foot to strike the ground from heel to toe and keeps the fascia from contracting and becoming painful.

This uniquely designed cane is beautifully designed. It’s Light weight and made to make walking LESS STRESSFUL. I can walk for longer periods with less effort. Moreover, it is helping me to restore my natural gait. I wish I had bought it a year ago.

Can You Use The 3rd Foot Cane After Surgery Or An Injury

Absolutely! The  3rd Foot Cane foot moves and maintains balance like a foot. It acts like a third foot (or fourth foot when using two) taking weight off the hip, knee, and ankle joints and evenly transmitting some of the weight between the cane foot/feet and the users feet stabilizing the body and helping redevelop a balanced, stable, upright  step, stride and heel to toe walking gait.

After total knee replacement surgery, I left the hospital with the following over-priced recovery aids: a walker, ‘typical’ cane, underarm crutches and forearm crutches. Seriously these anciently designed devices haven’t changed since the Middle Ages. I got around, for a short time with the walker, although it wasn’t any fun. As I progressed to crutches and then forearm crutches to get up and down stairs, I had to find a better alternative. The cane I had was a joke, totally unstable.

Went to the local medical supply place and all they had was more of the same. So, I searched on Amazon for an alternative. Lots of cane designs, although none dramatically different other than the design of the ‘foot’. Then I came upon this gem. Yikes! $80??? OK, so there must be something about this one that justifies it to be at least 3x the cost of any of the others.

I read the description and watched the videos. Then, I read the concept behind it and the inventor’s story on the alignedasdesigned.com website. Amazing! She designed this device after a serious car accident that took eight years of recovery. The doctors said she’s never walk properly again nor be able to engage in martial arts, where she was a Black Belt. Helluva story, definitely read it.

So, I popped for the $80. Honestly, in the big scheme of what the surgery cost and everything associated with it, $80 didn’t even move the needle off of Zero.

The cane arrived in about a week. It took a day for me to become proficient with using the device. After that, totally natural. This cane afforded me freedom of movement in the house, up and down stairs, into and out of my truck. It is a gamechanger!!

I used the cane for about a month and now I am mostly getting along without it. Seriously, don’t waste your money on a typical cane or one of the other goofball canes with a weird foot. This is the only one to get.

Broke my hip and had a pin failure a few years ago. I have two other cane designs (looked at many ) single post to which I later attached a 6 "finger" round base, and another with a 4 post pedestal base. I have a gravel driveway and large grass yard. I need to get on and off a tractor mounted mower. Single point was not practical. Never could find anything I felt comfortable with. After just two sessions in PT (have been on and off for almost a year) , my therapist observed -and I agreed--my gait is more normal, I am walking more upright. Both PT and I were amazed and how easy it was to adapt to this amazing invention. No other supplier provides the support before and after the sale that is provided for this unit. Frankly, it feels like like a conventional l cane, but is it sturdy and balanced. I started out taking both to PT, but am only going to this amazing unit.
Thank you. You have made my life so much better.

I was looking for another cane when I ran across this one. I am so glad I decided to order. I fell and broke my femur last July, needed extensive repair as well as hip replacement replaced. I walked on a walker for 6 months, now trying to transition off onto cane. The 3rd Foot is a huge boost. I've encouraged others to buy as well.

I had a terrible car accident 20 years ago. Six back surgeries and three fusions have left me bent over and scarcely able to walk. Traditional canes increased my bent-over posture and for most of the past 20 years I have relied on long walking sticks. Even with these, I have a tendency to bend over.
Just yesterday I received a 3rd Foot Cane.
My wife, who for years criticized me for walking facedown, noticed immediately (as I did) that the 3rd Foot Cane corrected my habitual poor posture and I have been practicing using the cane in the house. I feel three inches taller and I discover that I am taking deeper breaths. I love this thing.

Why is the foot of the cane larger in the front and smaller in the back?

The 3rd Foot Cane foot is proportioned like a human foot to help maintain the body's balance, upright posture and a heel to toe walking gait.

Is The 3rd Foot Cane Patented?

The 3rd Foot Cane, cane foot, and crutch foot are Patented in the United States, Canada and China.

Is there a warranty?
